My creative element has vanished this summer. The camera has barely escaped its case, my traditional nightime walks for contemplation have been exhausted, cooking attempts stall much beyond grilling some frozen okra or asparagus. Perhaps the move took a lot of life out of me, giving me instead a great deal of responsibilities and financial obligations to trouble myself with. Then, I suppose, that the VT orientation stuff just demands every bit of me.
I think I am just grouchy that the rain is going to keep me from cycling tonight.
To spite Jeremiah’s advice against the brand, I bought another LaCie drive. I have come to the point where my iTunes and iPhoto libraries are too great for my internal iMac drive - mainly because of the switch to RAW photos and the uncontrollable auto-downloading of some awesome podcasts. The packaging is nothing special for hard drives, but includes an unwarranted claim.

I do not appreciate product claims without some supporting evidence, or even an asterisk that makes me assume the small print elsewhere on the packaging could buffer the statement. Do professionals choose LaCie? Really? I like the brand already, but you didn’t have to agitate my angry-not-gonna-bike-tonight mood with an ill-referenced claim like that.
Maybe the thrift store has a cheap exercise bike I can grab. Something.
Addendum: I spate Jeremiah’s advice because we had a heated conversation a while ago about external hard drives, in which I arrived with a predilection towards LaCie; as much as I spite, he’s still one of my best friends, though I haven’t seen him in years, now. The rain stopped, I biked through a miserably humid air, and my mood improved. I discovered that my new tires buzz when I corner too tightly - warning me that should my speed decrease, I could eat it right on Main Street, where I love to corner the tightest of all. I haven’t unpacked that new LaCie yet - still looking for those professionals.

Something about having a fight over external drive manufacturers makes me smile.
Oh, I’ve had the iPhone since it came out, and all I can say is you’re not missing anything. If you try to use Safari and iPod at the same time, both crash (I was writing this from my iPhone listening to Keane and I lost both).. if you’re on a call and it completes, sometimes the touch screen doesn’t come back until you reboot.. and sometimes my “Momba” ringtone slows down to a crawl, sounding more like an Hawaiian slow dance than a chipper beat.
I’d wait until 2.0
You’re not using your camera? Well that was money well spent, wasn’t it?

I have used the iPhone a lot since it came out. For some reason, they have quickly proliferated the VT area, or at least some of my wealthier - typically, professional and older - friends. I have heard of the Safari&iPod crash issue, but we tried it on several models and nothing like that occurred.
The Marimba ring tone makes me tear. Almost. Almost always.
Your rebuke has not gone unnoticed. I spent a while photographically documenting the bike last evening. More to follow.
