Isn't it interesting to see things from afar (either looking down from a jet or looking up at a jet) and wondering if anyone notices your existence? I would often watch, with high quality binoculars, the early evening jets traveling north-south above Central Virginia heading to their respective east coast hub-airports. It was actually possible to recognize particular types of jets. It also provided a good perspective of what Mach 0.7 meant by watching the contrails bellowing from the engines. And to think there were people walking through those cabins carrying trays of plastic cups filled with drinks with the greatest of confidence.
