seeing if the $250M pays off
I really like Prodigy’s “Spitfire” from their latest album. But it sounds way too much like the N.E.R.D. remix of “Rock Star” used in the iPod ad. However, I feverishly liked that song as well. So I suppose two of a good, similar thing is still a good thing, regardless of the plurality.
It’s reassuring to me to notice the immense amount of televisions and computer screens directed to the election coverage. Despite the expectable collegiate apathy to elections, this year seems to be promoting significantly higher involvement. Or at least attention. Yet still, this likely represents a greater polarity of the people. Perhaps that is one of those drawbacks to high voter turn-out.
Despite my endless appreciation for the vegetarian portion of the newly-renovated Dietrick, they seem to really be stretching the limits of what is considered “dish.” What was clearly once well-prepared sides and entrees now is looking more like hit-and-miss foodstuffs. Tonight I had a “rancho” something-or-other that was no more than beans, tomatoes, onions, barbeque sauce and soy/legume chunks; that’s not creative, that’s not even cafeteria-esque predictability. They need to highlight their strengths, namely the vegetable dishes cooked in Indian-like manners, rather than whimsically conjuring fantastical dishes of vegetarian delight. I’m only a moderate vegetarian, but I do appreciate a herbivorous and non-confusing meal every now and then.
That reminds me: I really need to eat at Gillie’s sometime. And soon.
And now back to where we left off with NPR…
