The interview went well. My final test of this week went well. My grades so far have faired well. Good, swell, fantastic, whatever you want to consider it, I believe I’m having a grand fall semester.

Tonight I thoroughly enjoyed a trademarked Dinner in the Study with myself and Life of Pi, a recommendation originally by my sister. A great solitary dinner with a fantastic book; I can ask little more of a dreary, cold, raining Monday.

The email of a lifetime arrived in my inbox today. More specifically, ’twas the details regarding my interview for Thursday morning. Early Thursday morning. Can’twait.

The first physics test scores are in. I am pleased. Even with the mega-confusing nature of T-Score I believe I am functionally above average. Actually, were it not for T-Score, I think I would actually have been better off. Oh well.

Despite my utter apprehensions about this week, I am looking forward to it. A pinch of dread, here and there, keeps me on my toes. And keeps them from being stepped on.

Meh. Sleep.

Good news from the homefront: I have an interview for an internship! Next week, mid-week, I’ll take an evening trip back to Lynchburg, have my interview the next morning and then immediately return to Tech for classes that I can’t afford to miss. So about my ride back to campus. My roommate is going to drive me over there. Why my roommate? Because he also has an interview. For an internship. At the same place I’m being interviewed for. For the same internship. Certainly there’s no competition surfacing But really, there are no hard feelings, or awkward feelings for that matter, between us.

Tonight resolved a week of studying. The physics test wasn’t horrible, but it most definitely was no piece of cake. Now I can sit back and relax, in whatever pre-weekend fashion I wish.

On the subject of choice, my printer/scanner/copier combo seems to be making up its own mind frequently. I had severe trouble replacing the black ink cartridge Tuesday, as it believed that not only was I not properly inserting the new cartridge, but that the new cartridge was actually faulty. Then, after it was installed and working, my printer decided to surprise me by outputing this. Yeah. Don’t ask me where it came from. Kind of makes me glad I have the printer hidden by the wall rather than in a more able and accessible location.

I may update more later.

Updated Edition Addition: So I thought I would change the design a bit. At least until I get graphically fruitful.

I saw Napoleon Dynamite tonight. And then I got coffee solo. The movie was solo too; the way I like it.

So today wasn’t the life-long plateau I hoped for. There’s always tomorrow for those types of things.

Virginia Tech’s Engineering Expo started today, however. And I rocked it; much better than last year, thank you very much. The companies that I spoke, those based in Lynchburg, were very receptive to my native-ness with L-burg. That was positive. Then I chatted with a handful more of companies from the NoVa and Norfolk area (I assume my siblings are kind enough to grant me housing if I get an internship in those directions ). Plus, I spoke with the reps from Apple. Their table was loaded with the latest hardware. Including a 20″ iMac G5. Woah! I can search Thesaurus.com for only so long trying to find a better way to say “best computer ever.” That was fun.

Even more, GM and Ford had some vehicles parked outside of Squires to show off. GM had the C6 Vette and a nice Cadillac (think the Matrix one). Ford had the GT and a 2005 Mustang. The GT was hott. But, I will not waiver in my allegiance to German vehicles. I’ve sold my love for a pretty penny.

So yeah. That was wholly exciting. And as if my luck was undying, I get to proctor a test tonight for the classes that I grade for. Easy money, easy.

Speaking of which, I need to pick up my first check…Hmm…

Since I appreciate myself so much and will deny myself no pleasures [except for a) Krispy Kreme donuts; b) wild, frivolous spending; and c) personal sanity] I watched About A Boy last night. It is my favorite movie by several orders of magnitude; nothing ever has come close to matching my enjoyment of a viewing of About A Boy. After a chai latté, no other event could have properly completed my night.

Where has turbinado sugar been all my life? It is sad to say, but I was often deprived of great foods in my childhood (perhaps, rather, I preferred the same foods). After a successful trip to the Easy Chair for some C++ work, I splurged for Kroger brand Rice Cakes, Cinnamon Crunch style. So good. Honestly. Really good. I’ve always loved rice cakes but never seemed to eat them…or have them.. being eaten…by me. If only they were an integral part to my younger years. Maybe if espresso, Wheat Thins, carrots, curry, and Boca burgers had also been regularly present throughout my wonder years, maybe then would I have turned out all right. Until time reverts its ignorances, let The Boys of Summer play on.

I bought the Moonlight Mile soundtrack for $5. It is very good. Also, I discovered Shapiro. They are a local band. Locally from somewhere; I haven’t discovered from where though. VA/MD area…region. About, I suppose. But good, somewhat piano-driven rock. At least one of their songs is.

Meh. I’m supposed to be doing homework…
