The arduous portion of my Friday is now over. I got my COMM2064 test back. 96 out of 100. Holla! And I will never be found saying that again…

The physics test was evil. But not impossible. For some reason though, I am beginning to thoroughly love that class. Perhaps it’s because of my absolutely brilliant professor. I think it’s just great that he tells us we ‘are not engineers’ and how much smarter he is since his educational system (he’s from Taiwan) was much more demanding on the students even at young ages. Well, he doesn’t say that in the same word choice that I summarized it in, but in essence, that’s his idea. Plus, he’s a great guy to talk to. He’s helpful, patient, and willing to spend extra time with students if need be. Anyways, the test is finished and it’s time for some relaxation/coffee.

Well, I just answered a call from Arnold. That was entertaining…for the first few moments.

Tomorrow is my day of RA interviews. They seriously could not have spread this out in any more of an exasperating way. And, it’s all during Winterfest! So I’ll miss all the fun. Not that I’m actually complaining. I just thought I’d share.

Then Saturday night is VT-One. Now that’s something I’m looking forward to.

Abigail and I talked about the whole issue of gay marriages tonight while eating our lunch outside, thanks to the wonderful weather. I realized then how isolated I’ve become from news programs…and how much I miss them. Not that I am reliant on the media to fuel my news cravings, but that I enjoy hearing and analyzing other people’s opinions to help form my own. Yeah.

And the iPod mini is out today. I went to the bookstore to check it out (before 6PM mind you). Woah! That thing is small. Seriously small. And it weighs practically nothing. I was very impressed. My opinion says this will be more of a contender than expected by much of the previously anticipatory crowd. So that was fun.

Well my week of little sleep and mondo homework is coming to an end. But my weekend poses no stress relief at all. Arg. Ok, enough blog for now. Must…..stop….blogging..

Yet another long day to report. Another long day. Although this one seemed more so fulfilling that my exhausting Monday. Today was more humorous, more thrilling, and more…well…it was exhausting too.

But allow me to back it up to Tuesday. Tuesday was good too. I went to the Job Fair and talked to several employers about summer/co-op positions they had available. I set up an interview with Marathon Ashland Fuels (that I had today) so that left me quite excited leaving the Squires Commonwealth Ballroom.

Abigail and I went to Bollo’s last night. The first time in a significant while. I had forgotten that we hadn’t gotten any coffee there in well over a week. It was a reunion of sorts, if you will. So she EF-ed while I studied all of my COMM2064 notes. I like Bollo’s, and with company like Abigail, who can resist?

Thus we arrive at today. I had my interview. It went well, although given my age and low level of true ME knowledge I can only expect them to give me a light thought. Then EF. Then Comm test (well as well). Then Physics. Then some time to eat and do errands. Then Apex band practice. That, I must point out, went particularly well; we are so ready for Saturday and I am really looking forward to it.

Tonight, I went to see Starship Troopers with Abigail. It was a class assignment thing, but very entertaining nonetheless. And the commentary following the film was rather thought-provoking.

Yet my mind is slowing down because the night draws to a deafening close. And I have another long day of work and classes looming over my lean shoulders. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to write a critical commentary blog instead of these superficial this-is-what-I-did-today blogs. Perhaps I’ll talk about science.

Monday has been overwhelming and poignant. And not in some epiphanic way either. Arg.

After a long day of classes plus a physics quiz, I went to some Rolls-Royce dinner tonight. It was supposed to be a recruitment for co-ops. But it solely consisted of this one RR rep going on about the company. Admittedly, I was very interested, and still am, in the company and their dealings (mainly jet engines and design…new info to me), but the announcement about the event tonight was very misleading. And the “dinner” was pizza and doughnuts. Thanks guys…So anyways. I’ll go to the Co-Op Fair tomorrow with resumés ready for delivery.

And I had a long period of homework on Sunday thanks to the absolutely worst-worded EF homework assignment ever. There was an immense amount of justified complaints for that one.

Plus! I got to spend several hours tonight individually pulling out each one of my brain cells at the Math Emporium. Linear Algebra (MATH1114) is the paramount, the summit, the perfect example of the most poorly collaborated class ever. Back in my brother’s days here, part of the class comprised of an actual (voluntary) lecture. They have totally gotten rid of that area of help now, so everything must be taught by yourself from the information online. Let me mention that each quiz is four (4) questions and the tests are only fifteen (15) questions. The slightest mistake can result in a catastrophic drop in a grade. To teach such a complex and theoretical subject entirely on internet-based material is foolishness, and now I see why so many people take this elementary math class multiple times.

Arg. I just feel like ranting tonight.

Anyways. Much to do this week. Several rather interesting events to attend (Job Fair, Internship Fair, Co-Op Fair…Ferris Fair…). And some tests that I am preparing for. So some excitement. Also this weekend is my RA interview date, and VT-One which my NLCF band is playing for. Cool.

Too much to do. No little time.

Instead of going to support our nationally-ranked, women’s basketball team, Abigail and I spontaneously decided to go to B&N and get Frappucinos. A much better choice, indeed.

Tonight is Valentine’s Day night. *yay*. Dinner with Abigail; good talk and good eats. ::emotes happiness!::

I agree with Adam. Explodingdog.com can express the deepest of emotions. Especially Valentine’s Day warm fuzzies.

That is exactly how this morning was. Several counties/cities got out of school thanks to a shift in weather patterns that didn’t, at all, bring the predicted 2-4 inches of bright white. So yeah, walking to my chemLab was appropriated with a proper amount of wind-driven snow.

All I’ve been doing the past few days is work. Just simply been busy with homework and future stuff. Although, I’ve been more adamant at the gym, thereby resulting in a more chiselled RyanHarne.com. Yes, I just actually mentioned myself in the third, most inappropriate, person. ::sigh:: It truly has been a long day…a long week as well.

Tonight is a physics study session which I simply must attend otherwise I will be lost and confused.

I’ve thus far found it very, very nice to own an iPod. Not that I’m surprised at this conclusion. Yeah. And these pictures are nice. Oh I need a Mac so bad it’s not funny. I think I’m just tempting myself too much by owning an iPod yet still submitting myself to the restraints and chains of Windows. Stupid Virginia Tech Engineering computer requirement.

Anyways.

Despite today’s bright and ample flavor, my evening brought my salsa down to mild. I feel like ranting (and I’ve already tried two drafts) but I just don’t care anymore.

I want a job where I am valued. I don’t want lots of money. I desire to work at a place where I’m not viewed as a grunt, where there is no shuffling hierarchy, and where there is no downtrodden employee. There’s got to be one exciting workplace where people all fervently enjoy what they do. Whatever. It doesn’t matter.

Yesterday, Abigail and I saw Dennis Kucinich blabber incessantly on at Squires Colonial Hall. It was packed. He talked about how he’ll sign a bill for a carpetting health care for everyone (everyone will then have government-provided health care). Too bad that would make everything suck. Doctors wouldn’t have any incentive to work harder to gain customers and health care conditions would decrease. Dennis was also very sarcastic and cynical about the current Bush administration. Why is it that scary, old men are always cynical? Oh well. I got some funny pictures of the guy talking….or…something. Abigail and I had fun.

Then today was just chaos in multiVar 2224. My prof is crazy and just ‘isn’t always there’ so much hilarity ensued. It began with a simple out-of-the-book problem in which he performed incorrectly. Several people tried to correct him but he didn’t believe they were right. He kept trying to explain his errors away. Finally, it just got stupid and he gave up on the problem and decided something was wrong with the logic involved. Too bad I had already finished my homework for the week and was staring at the answer on my paper. Yeah. That was interesting.

So yeah. It’s just been a blah night.

I want a Mac.
