driving me aeropostale

Today was spent in an atmosphere of pleasantries. The weather has stayed in the upper 60s and near 70s today, so my sunroof was naturally cascading back each time I landed into the cloth-comfort of my Jetta.

Aeropostale was a bust. I wanted to return a Christmas sweater but found absolutely nothing of interest. Plus, they were putting out their spring lines. Talk about unfortunate. Nonetheless, I succeeded in finding a sweater and scarf at GAP. Sales are a brilliant thing. Then I went to Drowsy for some mocha and reading.

But I musn’t forget my vacation recap.

Thursday, 1 January 04 - I spent my New Year’s Day with Abigail as we drove around the various places of VABeach.

Post-breakfast was church at Saint Gregory’s.

Immediately following that was a trip to the beach. I have mentioned many times before in my blogs that I have never *officially* been to a beach. And by that I mean that I have never been to a beach within the realm of my memory [excluding the time, on a family vaca, we went by the Pacific but stopped only for a few minutes of rest allowing me no time to relish its splendor]. I found the boardwalking incredible, although I wouldn’t fully appreciate the majesty of the Atlantic until nightfall.

After our detour down to the sand, we went to MacArthur’s for some mall cruising. Nordstrom was amazing. There was another furniture store that I fell in love with, but can’t remember the name. There was a stop at Starbucks. And a stop at the Bose store (fun). Abigail found a hott hat at Express that, I expect, she will go back to get sometime soon because it was on an ample sale.

Following that funado, we went to BestBuy for some looking. Unfortunately many of the Tidewater and NoVa BestBuy’s aren’t Apple resellers as my Lburg BB is. Oh well. I wasn’t aware of it, but by that time the next day I would be swimming in Apple bliss.

Then some good luck bean soup at her home and a portion of rest succeeding that.

Next was the beach again. But this time at night. And with the lights (Christmas lights) on the boardwalk. First we came in away from the bright hullabaloo and we walked towards the water. I was intrigued. I was amazed. I was in awe. For nearly 10 minutes my jaw was dropped, as if I had leaden fillings in all of my molars. Just a portion of my life was then filled with serene silence while the waves murmurred incessantly always getting the last and only word. I simply found that experience gold-plated. Then we walked along the boardwalk and on a street for a while before turning around for home.

Thursday was even better.

Friday, 2 January 04 - However, I suppose all mountaintop experiences have a decline as Friday was my day of departure.

A retreat to Starbucks in the morning helped alleviate my disdain for having to exit so soon.

Not long after our arrival back to the house, I packed and was gone for an apartment complex near Fort Eustis. But The Beatles rode along with me, aiding me in my memories of the days and nights preceeding that time.

So, thus, I helped Garren and Michele move in. Along with my father, we all ate at Friday’s and then I went to CompUSA to check out the stock. I had no clue they would possess so much Apple merchandise. For a while I gazed into a 23″ Apple Cinema HD Display connected to its perfect counterpart, a dual-2Ghz PowerMac G5. Awe. Bliss. Inspiration. That was a nice stop before the long drive home.

And here I am now.

I expect a movie tonight with Jeremiah, who by the way has an amazing redesign now.

I had the best vacation of my lifetime.
