A most productive finale to my week. Homework was slashed and bagged early Friday to allow me shoulder room this weekend. I like shoulder room.

I went to the Easy Chair Café Friday before my 1114 quiz. Slow service but a great honey wheat ham & cheese. The latté was alright. I’ll be patient for Starbucks to arrive though. Then my quizzes will have a smooth accompianment to them that this more local restaurant does not seemingly provide.

Anyways, today was also spent getting things done. Abigail and I travelled to the NRV mall and Walmart to ‘run errands.’ I got a hat at the GAP. A very wintry hat indeed. You can’t see it from the blog picture but it has one of those big poofs on top; I like it a lot but Abigail shows a soft disapproval to my taste

Walmart was great. Honestly. I found all of the items I was looking for, barely spending over 10$. Plus two most amazing things occurred. First, well…wait…secondly, this Walmart has a Krispy Kreme so we both got doughnuts. I had a Cookies & Cream doughnut (sheer splendor!) and Abigail got a Chocolate Iced Cream-Filled doughnut (woot!). That was one phenominal doughnut, I still think about it with warm fuzzies. Plus we had a quaint conversation with the Krispy Kreme lady; for some reason I sincerely enjoy talking to the people who are helping me purchase things, like clothing retailers or, in this case, a specialty foods person. Anyways. And first, the first amazing thing, was a Pepsi I had. I never drink Pepsi but Abigail pointed out that it had the iTunes stuff all over it (the announcements and whatnot) so we both purchased a Pepsi. We both won songs !!! I was happy. The actual ‘contest’ thing doesn’t start until tomorrow (and I have a feeling the bottle caps aren’t redeemable until tomorrow as well) but it was just so amazing and enjoyable regardless. ::big smile::

So tonight I think we are going to head downtown to Bollo’s for some mysterious live music. And some coffee of course. Not to forget Donnie Darko time.

And…I talked to Bryan today. Those were some well spent cellphone minutes.

While some would say this is my metrosexual, sensitive side shining through, I would argue that I’ve always been prone to enjoying human emotion even in grief and sadness. I find it incredible that we have been granted an endless supply of ways to sort and categorize what happens to us in strategically personal affections that grasp and catch us in our own times.

I don’t believe I am over sensitive about anything. I would like to believe that I am just very in tune with my feelings and emotions. It disturbs me to carelessly forget my past experiences and anecdotes. Each event of my life has led me to this place where I am at now. No single or group of events can be eliminated and still produce the same me. Thus, I am always conscientious about my emotions, not desiring to leave or discard any of them.

In times of sadness I grieve, stress, and experience slight depression. All depending on the realm and manner of the occurrence. When I am glad I feel joy and happiness (not the same emotion at all) and I am able to view the world in a more pleasant light. But when life is mediocre and monotonous, as it tends to be most of the time, I attempt my best at not becoming lackluster in my outlooks.

I love poetry and I love a good book (at least now I do). The written word provides so much more depth and substance than does any other form of media or communication. I’m not big on tv at all, except the occasional Seinfeld or Simpson’s episode. Movies I enjoy fantastically when they allow me to think deeper and look into myself and into the world for answers. The internet is just an iffy thing for me. IM is so uncordial and impersonal; I can’t wait until I get a Mac and an iSight so I can see and actually talk to the person I am communicating with. Effective communication is very important to me. Although, sometimes I feel better saying almost nothing; yet that speaks in itself. There is no such thing as ‘not communicating.’

And that’s why I’m taking several communications courses; although since they got rid of the minor *arg* I can only take so many classes before they aren’t counted as electives any more. Anyways.

Perhaps this was a very random blog. I don’t care. I just wanted to permeate how I felt; I like to emote.

One of the Thinsulate fingers in my glove is torn at the end, so my finger is nearly exposed to the direct elements of nature, except for the thick layer of wool in between it and the air. But today’s erroneous winds and masterful wind chill brought our temperature way waaayy waaaayyyyyy below 0degF. Thus, I noticed my finger becoming rather uncomfortably cold. The wind way even blowing through my denim jeans…what’s with that?

Yesterday I got a ‘mocha’ following my dreadful multiVar class. Well, I ordered a mocha. But instead, I got a ::what?!:: hot chocolate!! I didn’t realize it until I had left the place (’what is going on…it just tastes like chocolate?!’). I’m not that fond of straight chocolate and water. Any moderately experienced barista would know that a mocha refers to a mocha latté (or in Starbucks terms a Café Mocha). Although I guess these aren’t true baristas now are they? More like…college students. Arg. Anyways, I made it through that one. But that shan’t happen again.

Last night was the EF mandatory meeting at Burruss. It was a lecture on the Columbia disaster a year ago. The guy was using a 15″ PB for his slides so my attention was immediately enthused (an engineer, a NASA engineer at that, that uses a Mac gets my cranial focus any day). I was truly amazed at the information he had to share with us. One particular collection of slides/videos was from a re-creation of the accident. After many computer hours (even when you use a supercomputer, sometimes it takes hours to perform ultra complex operations and scenarios) this team came up with a flash-type video of what happened, how the foam struck the wing, how big the hole was, etc. Then he showed a video of their actual-size lab test of the event. The lab result was almost perfectly identical to the computer estimates in terms of forces shifting, not to forget that the hole size/shape was identical from the computer simulation to the actual test. I was amazed. It was just incredible to intake the material he had to present to us. Unfortunately, many Wintel users brought their laptops to play solitaire or chat on AIM. ::gag:: Oh well. The power/electricity did go out at one point. Apparently it went out all over town. Interesting. Clocks to reset, definitely.

Then today was just a great day of getting back to my more favored classes: EF, Comm, Physics. My physics prof TS Chang is brilliantly genius. He performed the calculation of the squareroot of the quantity [(-113)squared + (247)squared] in his head. After approximately 7 or 8 seconds he said ‘um…272…yeaaah…it’s 272.’ Most of the lecture hall slightly began to laugh at his abilities, and then people got out their calculators. The actual answer is 271.62, or rounded to 3 sigfigs as he likes…272. Woah. That was intense. I like that class. For now at least.

And then an Apex practice was this afternoon. And more stuff to take care of tonight.

I need more feedback about the new design. I haven’t gotten enough to decide whether or not to keep it for any length of time.

Since I have a snowday, I decided to try my hand at the new design.

It will likely change in some manner or another. But right now, I’ll leave it as is.

Although constructive criticism will be well appreciated (see email to the right).

The first week of Spring Semester 2004! has ended. It was just fine.

It’s very windy here. Uncomfortably breezing. Yes.

Well, I’m planning on applying to be an RA for my sophomore year. I think it would be exciting. In some measure. It would be great to try and stretch my abilities and time by having such a role. Anyways, I thought I’d share.

Um, tonight I guess I’ll get some coffee with Abigail. Perhaps some MST3K thanks to Adam. Good first-week-o’-spring-semester times.

Nothing more to say. I do like my new, upcoming design though. It’s simplicity, very. So yeah, I’ll finish that up soon so I can share.

By far, daily, recurringly everywhere I go I see someone with an iPod. This makes me happy Plus along the way, I’ve been able to dispel some rumors people have that the iPod can only hold music purchased from the iTunes Music Store. I feels good. It’s great that Apple released iTunes for Windows; what a difference it has since made. But I’m the only one I’ve seen so far with an exo2 ::check me out::

I’m kind of sad to see Howard “The Mean Machine” Dean lose his brownie points after his brazen…speech…late Monday evening. It would have been exciting to have a complete lunatic for president. I mean, wouldn’t you just feel…comforted…with a narcissist at the helm of the most powerful country in the world? I know I would. Actually, it’s good to see the guy go. A quick and painless, although, in this case, shameful, political death is often the most desired. Even if it is over a one-time foolish remark. Remember Lott? Wait…what am I talking about? Political death is by far, discounting the fears of natural death, the most feared death of them all…right? And why do I keep posing rhetorical questions?

Ugh, it’s been a long day. I need me some joebeans.

New site design in two, count em.. 2, weeks.

Oh how could I forget?! I bought 3 songs from the iTunes Music Store today. My first song purchased: John Mayer with “Neon” live from the Chicago Arena or something. I ’tis really happy.
