recovering workaholic

This week is going to really kill me. Last week I had two tests both in my big ’study-the-book’ classes. This week I have tests in my ’study-anything-you-can-get-your-hands-on.’ Ought to be a blast.

So I spent the weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN (where the women drive the bigger trucks) watching football, eating, playing pool, taking pictures. That kind of thing. It was a nice time away from campus although it left me with little time to do homework when I got back and a lost toiletries (bathroom stuff) bag. New stores we passed along the corridor of death (aka the entirety of Pigeon Forge) included the Amish Outlet (I guess there’s a little Amish in all of us). Most of the rest of the town is just a large contraption of tourist traps and whatnot. Definitely not worth a trip, or day, or afternoon. So yeah, it was good. And I realized how close it was/is to Christmas, so I need to get a list going and get to shopping for peoples.

Yay for Adam and his new design. Fabuloos!

Well, I need to do a thousand things this afternoon, so I’m going to get my walking shoes on and will cruise B-Vegas for a while. Enjoy.

hardly a laughing matter my dear

Sometimes I think it’s strange to engrave [parts of] my life on a public pedestal for others to scrutinize. Hmm, since I’m doing this I wonder what my rights are under libel. But hopefully, in trust, none of you will maliciously word me anytime soon.

VW has released a phenomenon: the Phaeton. If you have a high-speed internet provider then you’ll be able to view all of the amazing details and flash setups that VW has craftily put together. This car is truly revolutionary. VW has slowly tried to get its foot in the door of the other German luxury manufacturers. The Touareg was their first attempt and now this stupendous, luxury sedan. Wow, definitely check it out. I personally can’t wait until I get my Jetta.

So yesterday was crazy. First was my Comm test. I’ve been studying like that crazy for that to get a good A for the semester. The test wasn’t hard at all. I got a 98. Then, later, was my Honors Vector Geo class where my prof passed back tests from last Thursday. He said he was incredibly disapppointed with everyone’s grade and so he is re-testing us in one week. Fair enough. One great test grade and one bad test grade…in one day. Whatever floats your boat.

Then, let’s see, tonight is APEX. Tomorrow I am leaving for the Smoky’s where I will weather the drive through Pigeon Forge before reaching the final destination of some unknown mountain top. That should be quaint. Well, yes, yes it should.

I’m kind of tired and have work to do. I kind of have work to do. Yeah.

“I’d like to party with the young woman that asked that question.” - Joe Lieberman, during Rock The Vote when questioned about what Democratic presidential candidate he’d like to party with, his answer wasn’t even a qualified choice ::shame and sadness::

laughable

I attended my extra credit event thing last night. A few extra points in COMM1014 won’t hurt. Although I had to endure a Democratic candidate presidential debate…Democratic presidential candidate debate…whatever. It was part of Rock the Vote that hopes the candidates will voice their opinion on issues relating to people in the ages of 18-30 (apparently the youthful voters of America, yet those numbers seem too broad to cover just youth). Anyways, it was a long evening of 9 Dems griping about what Pres. Bush has done wrong. Let me comment in my most incoherent way.

Admittedly, in the task of running for president, any candidate will, often, blame random things on the incumbent to fairly libel the figure up in hopes of hurting the incumbent’s reputation. This is true regardless of party affiliation. But Dems have that ignorance about them to not realize that their views just aren’t reasonable in action. For example, let me once again say that the Democratic party wants America to become like Europe: non-aggressive, Socialist, and dependent on government. And once again let me point out that European socialist countries have the highest unemployment rates in all of the governments currently in existence. Throughout the night these candidates opposed the Bush tax cuts (they’d rather repeal them…wait…doesn’t that mean taxing us more?!) and declared the war in Iraq another Vietnam (hmm…I thought we lost in Vietnam?). These foolish people got their approval from the youthful audience through cheap laughs and clever appeals (’I think marijuana should be decriminalized’ - Kucinich). Too bad 3 out of the 9 admitted they had used marijuana in the past and one other candidate [she] wouldn’t answer the question.

I’m glad I went though. I definitely appreciated the aid in my Comm scores but the time spent watching this latest sitcom really bolded, underlined, and italicized my feelings about the Democratic party. Anyways, it was interesting. I continually lose respect for that party. But the Birthday party…now that’s something I can enjoy.

holding on for deer life

We had a sub in my sociology class today. He was very liberal and believes that society can reach a near-perfect utopia if only we stole from the rich and gave to the poor. Arg. And he definitely bashed the idea of a 6-day creation and populating of the world from Adam and Eve. Dems against prejudices and discrimination that don’t realize they are prejudiced are just not cool. That’s all I’m saying about that.

::rewind:: Saturday was the game against Miami. Pre-this-event my Compact Flash card completely crashed and stopped working, so I took an emergency trip to Target to grab a new *smaller capacity* one. And my phone started failing. And then Tabitha called me like a thousand times during the game to apparently ask for the score, but ::speaking to her:: you must realize that it was absolutely impossible to hear anything at any time during that game especially on my phone::end personal note::. My ears still hurt, although my throat never truly pained me from screaming. So yeah, that was the most amazing game, but I didn’t rush the field afterwards. Oh well. Great fun. Post-game, Abigail, Maggie, Jason, and I went to Express for some grease and then back to the suite to watch The Godfather.

About the film. I was very impressed, but I should definitely watch it again sometime because at times there was great background *noise* that drowned out lines and whatnot, so I likely missed some important parts. But I really liked what I could glean from it.

Sunday I did homework and study. Same thing today although I tossed in a couple classes just for kicks. Tonight is an APEX practice and more studying. Plus I’ll continue to feel the effects of the meager sleep I attained this weekend. Great fun.
