not just for kids, ages 3 to 7, anymore

My examination extravaganza is over. I think I did just fine. The make-up Honors Vector Geo was the same difficulty but by my second try I had understood so much more than the first time through. EF was simple. Chemistry was easier than normal, but still ruthlessly hard. So that is all over with, until a couple more weeks. …yay……

Let me interupt my recapping and forecasting for some critical thinking. Yesterday in my Intro to Comm class my professor lectured for a while on the concept of hegemony, the ability to influence social definitions (aka the most powerful influence of any type). He showed us a clip of the movie Malcolm X that summarized that idea in dialogue. The line is quoted below but the rest of the hegemony-influenced dialogue resulted from two black inmates looking at a dictionary. They noticed how the word black, used to describe their race, is synonymous with ‘evil’, ‘wicked’, and ‘dirty’ while the word white, used to describe the majority race, is synonymous with ‘unsullied’ and ‘pure.’ Now the concept here is that words were assumably defined in this way to depress black people. I think that’s interesting in theory, and possibly true to some extent, but I think that it cannot be looked at too far. Because the question that you reach in the process of scrutinizing social definitions used as factors of prejudice is what came first, the prejudice or the definition void of prejudice. Anyways, I thought it was very interesting, and I thought about it for the next couple of minutes while I froze myself walking back to the dorm. Oh well, I find things regarding human interaction and social communication very fascinating.

Quickly concluding, I added an archived webcam page in my free time late last night. Finally.

Tonight is a The Matrix marathon that will close in a viewing of The Matrix: Revolutions. I haven’t heard one really positive review of this movie yet, so I’m not expecting to be impressed. But at least I can find out how the Wachovia-brothers ended this near-catastrophe of a trilogy. Perhaps that was too harsh. Forgive me. I just was really disappointed with Reloaded and don’t expect much tonight. But it will still be goodtimes.
