allllmost christmas
Post-Halloween, the greatest consuming season of the year will begin its rounds once again. I guess that’s cool. It’s been long enough getting there this year, about time for some jolly goodwill and love. Plus, the oh-so-entertaining time of Christmas shopping for friends, aka me-blindly-walking-into-a-store-for-days-without-a-single-scheduled-clue-as-to-what-to-get. Seriously, I’m a mess around Christmas.
Segwaying, it’s been a good weekend. Friday was APEX. The band got many complements from that show and I thought things went extraordinarily well. I even had some nice lead parts that I didn’t screw up. But I need to get some new strings soon, really soon. Oh well. So yeah, Friday was fabulooos.
Saturday was never-ending. I woke up around 9, loafed around for a while, then went to the gym’s opening at 10. I’m starting a new workout pattern so yesterday I did all abs and back. Working out is so awesome. Seriously. I can’t imagine how immensely low my self-esteem would be if I didn’t train this body some. Well…maybe that’s exaggeration, but still, I love feeling healthy and allowing my body to maximize its physical potential. Yay for people who gym in the morning! Represent.
Then I got back, showered, and went over to Abigail’s place. We then went to the bookstore where I got some Apple ads for the new iPods. After that quick pitstop, we walked to the YMCA thrift store looking for something for Halloween. There were already many peoply checking out the costumes and hideously ugly clothes there. But no luck for our story. Although I did find an antique copy of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales that I convinced myself I didn’t want to carry all the way back, yet I wanted it sooo bad. Anyways, next we checked out Goodwill, post-late-lunch. We definitely found some stuff at Goodwill as did the many people who were looking for clothes to dress up in for the viewing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show this week. Yeah, guys in skirts…yeeeaah.
Next, back to VT. I got plenty of homework done that needed be murdered off and then I napped (napping at 9pm…does that count?). Then Abigail and I went to see Kill Bill Vol. 1. Of course I’ve never been the fan of violent movies, but this film takes on such a comical yet aimed aura of violence that it nearly bother me as much as senseless violence movies do (I don’t like blood…let’s just put it at that). So I definitely enjoyed it. And wow, I so want to see the second volume. A very good movie if you are desensitized to vengeful violence. But, I won’t try and bash that movie at all because it simply is amazing. Easily a possible DVD-buy. Yeah, good times.
And today’s story will include reading, homework, and whatever else I find myself getting involved in. But, let me quickly praise VW for releasing a new version of my baby, the TDI. Now better power and torque with the same 40+ mpg powerplant under the hood. WoOt!
Enjoy the day while I slave away.
