being there
The time has came. This experience is already hitting me and I’m loving it. I’ve looked forward to the away-from-Lburg feeling for some time and thus far am enjoying it. Of course this is probably the natural reaction from anyone initially leaving home, however this has been a long-awaited time for me. And so before I repeat myself any further, I’ll get on with this.
Monday night I had dinner with my ladies. The full group this time. Aly, Tabitha, and Anna. So wonderful. Enjoyed some Remington Grill (they make the only spicy salad…). After a long summer away from my kids, it was great to once again catch up with the ones who filled my lunches with various enjoyments. Much love to each.
I met up with Jeremiah on Tuesday after a great dinner with a long-time friend and former babysitter of mine, Linda. J and I chatted for sometime about the latest Mac Directory before doing some digital shopping. Good music and visuals while we explored the recently added Macs at BestBuy. Even more fun with OS X for me while Jeremiah explained the great facets of Apple to an unknowing store salesman. Then some great pre-leaving conversation with J. There are some things that greatly inspire me and encourage me; a conversation about true-to-life issues with Jeremiah is definitely one of those things. So that was my last contact with those from home.
I basically got home late evening Tues and packed all night. What enormous fun! It went much faster than expected, however, because I basically had stuff taken care of. So yeah. Now I’m here at VT. Met some people. Hung out with plenty of JF kids as well. And I’m doing fine. It’s going to be strange waking up to a ceiling ::cue loft:: and not having this exponential amount of food for my random consumptions. It’ll be just fine though. If any VT people read this, talk back (check contact info from above right).
Five more years!
My new design is being completed. Let’s call this the collective finalizing stages where I begin taking a concept to the drawing board. So, perhaps it isn’t near conclusion…but it will still be exciting, invigorating, and will incorporate spontaneous uses of graphics and VT symbols. Yes, I am a Hokie now. Deal with it.
