Today I went to lunch with Jeremiah and Rianna in celebration, honor, and reverence of Rianna’s birthday this past Monday. One word: awww. I think Rianna enjoyed the time and great Isabella-style food. And what better way to unite our core friendship than to take the same survey they both took recently. Don’t expect me to take a survey on my blog ever again, so this is another b-day present to Ri.

#1 What is on your bedside table? - nothing, I don’t have one, but the closest thing would be this stool that has a box of tissues, my often-unused glasses, and then my remotes

#2 What’s the geekiest part of your music collection? - ::silence:: err..probably all of the easy-listening CCM stuff I piled up during my extended LiveWire fascination, lots of soccermom pop music; yes that is geek

#3 What do you eat when you raid the fridge at night? - bread and water, just call me old school

#4 What is your secret guaranteed weeping film? - Forrest Gump (and I didn’t even know Rianna put that down until just now), that movie should make a war-monger t.v. host cry like a sissy

#6 Do you have a completely irrational fear? - sometimes when I’m outside late at night, but overall I don’t think so, most of my fears are quite rational

#7 What is that physical habit that gives away your insecure moments? - good lord, my ears change colors like you would not believe, you haven’t seen purple until I’m embarassed

#8 Do you ever have to beg? - no, I just have a hard time caring enough about something to beg for it, I’m like ‘I’ll get over it’

#11 Describe your bed. - two mattresses, three pillows, always keep my shoulders and neck elevated because it helps me breathe easier

#17 What do you miss most about being little? - well, I just want to know why I have no memories as a child growing up, anything I can remember only goes back so far, like 2nd grade, I can’t even remember our old house!, but I do miss playing in sandboxes with my brother and building these intricate sand cities

#23 Do you like yourself and believe in yourself? - admittedly, I have very minor problems with self-confidence and being overcritical on my abilities and character flaws, but I’m working on that

#25 Do you consider yourself to be a nice person? - yes, but not enough, this is something I’m definitely working on

Well that was interesting. The last question was like the honesty challenger. Perhaps a random survey every now and then isn’t so bad after all.

NEWS FLASH: I got my VT room assignment today. It is official that I am rooming with Adam in West AJ on the 2nd floor, and…directly across the hall from us is Tony and Brian (two other JF kids). This will be a great year.

Long day today. It started off with a very strange dream. Ok, one of my recent photo additions is of an insect I took with macro lens adjustments. I’m really like taking pictures of insects when they are outside and not wanting to harm me, so I find it fascinating. So, I had a dream early this morning about the very same fascination, turned evil. Apparently I was at a party somewhere that eventually turned into my bedroom, but here’s what happened. People were handing out Hershey bars with the new wrappers (like the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups wrappers) but mine was overly sized. In fact it seemed to squirm a little too much for my chocolately taste. This is about the time when I was all of a sudden back in my room. So I open it up and there is this insect the same length of the candy bar inside. I looked like a lobster but had many legs underneath to crawl with instead of long arms. It seemed to be made of this strange clear gelatin material. The eyes laid flat on the top of its head and they looked like black dots with glitter around them. And since it is clear I can see what is going on inside of this insect/creature/demon. So inside there is this weasel that is swimming around, but the weasel doesn’t have an appendages, only a head, torso, and tail. Kind of strange. Then I woke up and started this wonderful day.

Warm oatmeal helped me displace the cruelty of my previously ended dream, along with some Imus.

I worked somewhat to update and enhance the other sections of my site that I too often don’t visit myself. I must make an apology to Andy Hunter who has been making many hits with movie trailers including the new Tomb Raider movie and The Matrix: Reloaded. His music is definitely worth a buy, listen, and appreciation.

It’s been a long day. But overall, I am refreshed. Sometimes it takes a little punch in the gut before we manifest our true ability to…fight back? I don’t know. I’ll stop talking.

Saturday night was Bruce Almighty. Sorry for the rather abrupt blog beginning, but I wanted to get right to it. The movie is just fabulous, very humorous and worthwhile. I love Bruce’s attempt at organizing prayers: file cabinets, Post-Its, and finally email. A lovable movie. Worth, perhaps, the money for DVD. Perhaps. I’m kind of glad that Carrey dropped out of Dumb & Dumberer for this one. 5.8 out of 10.

Well, the inevitable has finally come. My job has been lost. No, I have not lost my job, but the current status of my employment is temporarily on hold. You see, I normally scan for 8 hours a day and 7 days a week. I was told to ’scan until there’s nothing left to scan.’ Easy enough. But no, it’s not that I’ve run out of documents that I’m not working full-time right now. Not at all, I have practically another season of work to do. The catalyst for this inevitability is that my scanner has broken. The wonderful Canon of four years has finally puttered to its last put. Fortunately, the occasion is repairable, but it may be a week before that happens. So until then, I’ve got plenty of freetime to take care of college stuff.

Health update: I’m sick again. Coughing and mucus and all the things pneumonia-like. I went to the doctor and he said that while I don’t have pneu again, I in fact have some different type of cough-inducing viral thing. All the same to me. I’ll be just fine though. I’m a little trooper.

Ok, the weather has quickly taken a turn for the worse, so I’m going to shut stuff down in order to not test my warranties. I have begun to irrevocably switch to the contact information listed above right, so please send all info to those addresses.

I simply must stop wasting my time on computer games. This is my mental note to self. Don’t play! If you recognize the name “Snood” then you know what I’m talking about.

There are those Fridays that happen every now and then that bring about some intensely exciting. When you can’t stand being at work and await solely the pleasures of the night. That’s not exactly how I would describe my Friday, yesterday, but it was something like it.

I went to Jeremiah’s flat to hang out for the night. I tested out my WiFi and was very pleased; one less thing to worry about on move-in. J and I video chatted with Bryan for a while (I would link Bryan’s site, but apparently it’s super secret and only the elite have access to it). But yeah, video chatting is supreme.

Then Rianna dropped by and with the help of Subway cookies and Sony stereo, we started the movie for the night. I selected E. T. - The Extra Terrestrial, one of my all-time favorites and also one J had not seen. The movie goes so deep if you look, but so many people pass it off as a cheap children’s film that divulges their little imaginations. How foolish and shallow! E. T., as in the film, shows the superficiality of American living and how our individualistic mindsets have skewed the concept, structure, and reality of life. So yeah, I love this film. And the soundtrack is to-die-for. Yeah.

Adam stopped by near half-way through the film. Once that was over and the tissues were passed around, at least for one-fourth of our viewing audience, we got back to computer-geeking. Adam brought over his ultimate Powerbook and new iSight. So again we video chatted with Bryan (who’s link still remains anonymous) and it was a fun time. I was sure to bring my new Canon over for plenty of stills and video clips as mementos for my away-college living. Ahhh, life is grand.

So I left there with a great appreciation for togetherness and a delightful attachment to Mozilla Firebird.

Then this morning I did some shopping and found no success on my searching for My Girl on DVD. Apparently, I’ll be Amazon.com-ing in the near future.

After some minor whining from others, I have decided to soon refurbish my website and offer more color contrasts. Perhaps, I’ll go easy on the blue for a while.

Ok, let’s see. Then I saw 2 Fast 2 Furious this afternoon. Let me set the record straight, the only reason I went to see this movie is because #1 I had the time, and #2 I love watching non-Nascar-affiliated vehicles move fast. I admit that’s more than one reason, but they work collectively. The movie isn’t good at all, and much of the racing is computer generated, so it was very much a dissappointment. I was hoping for some better video panning of the cars, but apparently due to the complex computer implementations already, they could only zoom out so far until they had to then build computer-generated backgrounds as well. ::sigh:: I suppose it was worth just a dollar. 2.3 out of 10.

I’m working on getting plenty of pics added to the photograph section of this site, thanks to my handy-dandy camera. By the end of the next week, the amount should nearly double.

What better way to follow up an exciting Tuesday of fun than a Thursday of usuality? Yeah, the last two days have, event-wise, been very normal.

Oh yes. I got my AP scores back. AP Gov: 3. AP Calc: 3. I can’t complain, although I was expecting possibly a 4 out of 5 on the gov one, but then again I was praying for something just above a 1 on the calc because that was so inhumanely hard. So, I will deal with the scores with pride.

Word of note: encumbered. It could just be strange coincidence but I’ve heard this word (and sometimes with various prefixes) so often lately that I’m sick of this big-vocabulary-big-mind thing. Or maybe I simply have nothing to write about in a blog that I have to throw in my minor, quasi-complaints about life.

Speaking of barely worth mentioning, I’ve been delighted every now and then with Motel 6’s radio ads on WLNI. They have the only advertisements that are truly original and funny, at least on this station’s airplay. I love their mock of the internet pop-up industry that mentions one such pop-up’s slogan, “Click here and get 3 wishes!” ::lite afternoon laughter:: Ah, maybe it’s just me enjoying the simple things in life, or maybe once again I’ve fallen into the endless fate of pointless blogs.

But here is something that has much value, point, and interest to me. I want to personally thank Jeremiah for a great talk yesterday. Thank you.

A / V stands for the first name initials that I would name my two kids, assuming I made the mutual choice with a future wife of my future choice to have children and only two in number. The title suggests that my eyes are not quite focusing correctly. But perhaps that is due to the massive amount of ’stuff’ that has happened in the last hour or so that I want to quickly write down in a coherent process before it becomes history.

First. Congrats to US Forces and Intelligence that has done a fine job today of ridding the Earth of #2 and #3 of the Iraqis Most Wanted list. Job well done. Keep it up.

Second. This week’s Newsweek is a great glimpser. Basically, since I graduated my AP Gov class, I only give my Newsweeks a glance, sometimes more than others depending on the topic. This one has some great coverage in its non-headlining areas. Such as Rock Star Steve. Remember Steve? He’s back. In Rock Star form. Also someone proposed to the ‘Ask Tip Sheet’ writer through the very tip sheet itself; I thought that was semi-clever and sweet. Also they briefly mention a new Matt Damon movie when he stars as half of a conjoined-twins combo. After shooting, he says, “Now I know what the Secret Service guys feel like when Bush takes a leak.” Too funny. Anyways, I was impressed with the parts of this Newsweek that I took the time to look at the pictures from. Yeah.

Ok, whatever the third thing was, I’ve already forgotten it. Not surprisingly. I have such a bad short/long-term memory. I think this all started after watching Memento.

I wanted to do a personal commentary on myself after a progressive thought process I found myself looming in today at work. I have been listening to Linkin Park’s Meteora cd lately and it’s obvious that many of the songs have a near depressing or angry aura to them. And being the highly impressionable person that I am, I have quickly taken on that personality. And also being the highly self-critical person that I am, I begin to judge myself on this lackluster appeal to temperament, in other words I get mad at myself for being so easily swayed to change moods. I believe I am a person who thinks too much. I have that evil, innate quality to overanalyze something to absolute death, and I’m not exaggerating or kidding. While I’m not a begrudging person per se, I just think about stuff all the time and scrutinize its importance and viability. Even this blog is an example of me analyzing myself too much. Jeremiah admits that I may be too critical of myself, but how else am I supposed to reach truth and understanding of this soul? While I am definitely not a modern-pop-aesthetic or whatever, I definitely try to mix my religious views with how to they associate themselves to society. I don’t think this is wrong, but I’ve found it difficult to swallow. In more clear understanding: I’m finding that this self-discovery thing I’ve been in for months now has led me in endless circles of self-defeat and sober fear. Now that I’ve said that, I will once again reiterate that I’m looking forward to a new surrounding in college (not necessarily away from family, not at all, but away from the standard Lynchburg attitude) where, hopefully, I will be able to meet new people and co-associate myself etc etc. I think this portion of my blog has simply become a needless rambling of whatever I can spit out. ::sigh:: At least my mind isn’t racing as fast as it was before I started writing.
