Monday, June 23rd, 2003Let me do some recapping ::defragging mind:: Ok.
During this past week at work I’ve typed thousands of odd combos of characters that simply exist to retain a file/doc. In the midst of this random digit typing, I discovered the greatest name/pronoun. Milan. oooooh…sounds so Italian-ishtically exotic yet refined and powerful. So I’ve simply fallen in love with this name, and eventually want to visit the city for myself.
Friday night I saw Bringing Down The House with Jeremiah. Great movie. Seriously wonderful. While the acting on Queen Latifah’s part seems to drag somewhat (or perhaps it was just the poorly written dialogue, but some of it is acting), the movie moves along…swell. My only complaint is that it is nearly two hours long; a lot for a light comedy. But still, definitely worth $8 and worth getting the DVD. 6.6 out of 10.
Saturday I went to a graduation reception thing at my ex-church (I suppose that’s how you would enunciate it). It was very nice. Good getting to talk to Justin too. Also I was able to tour the new facility (aka the new church part) and was pleased at seeing how close to finish it is. I wish them the best, and also the best to Justin in his future pursuits.
Then Saturday night, Jeremiah, Sherrie, Ez, and I went to see XMEN X2. I’m definitely not a fan of comicbook movies, and I truly hated the first XMEN, but…woooah…X2 is goood. I liked it better than Reloaded at least in some areas. The plot is full and exciting from start to finish and action is appropriated fluently and not in gaggles of uselessness. Definitely see this one. 7.2 out of 10.
Jeremiah also showed me some clips from one of his SD friend’s DVD. Apparently, one of J’s church friends got inspired and bought a miniDV cam and started his own film company basically. And wow…I’m seriously impressed. Not to forget he uses Apple computers. Check out his site.
Then Sunday I saw Bringing Down The House again with J and Rianna. Again, some good stuff.
And also this weekend I finally sold my soul to the Dell-vil. My Inspiron 8500 will be great, but I regret paying so much for something I will quickly, hopefully, replace with a PowerBook or iBook. So I suppose I will need to get an external FireWire harddrive eventually…but hey, no complaints because it’ll be a nice laptop and a nice college experience as well.
Well, I will be gone all this week and I have no ability to control the server fluctuations. So my site may be gone for some time. If that happens then suck it up and wait until I get back and get my talkin on.
Creation, here I come.
